OK...What makes a Modeler Tick!!!

Here is the "This is me" section of the web page.  Fav Stuff, Fav Music, Fav Things to do, you know...

Whenever I do Model Shows I'm asked how did I get started in this Blasted Hobby, that turned into my career.  My father used to build models regularly.  I have memories of all these airplanes hanging from the dining area light fixture.  P-40 Warhawk, Japanese Zero, Vought Corsair, and I believe a P-47 Thunderbolt.  I was only 3 or 4 at the time.  However this image has always stuck with me.  Then there is the gift from my mother around the same time...1/72 scale model of an SE5-A WW I Fighter.  It was in her coat pocket, and I had to go find it.  Then my Dad and I spent time putting this together and hung it from my Bedroom Light!!!  Over time there were quite a few aircraft there!  Even in those Early Days, my father kept telling me that "Models are for Display son, not for playing with,  you have toys for that!!!"

So Dad, Thanks for my Career...

I have varied interest's...

In Music I'm all over the board.  From Country to Rock.  Opera to Classical, from some modern to Movie Soundtracks.

Movie's... Now we have the impetus for the start of my Professional Model Building Career.  July 1977, a very bruised young man being carried into the Town Cinema's on Main Street in St. Catharine's Ontario.  Right when the Millennium Falcon was escaping the DEATH STAR...OH MY!!! this was my First Exposure to STAR WARS!  This one moment cemented what I wanted to become.  A Professional Model builder.  The stuff on the screen was so inspiring, so fantastic, so Amazing that I wanted to know exactly..."How they did that".  From learning about Richard Edlund, John Dykstra, Dennis Murren, Joe Johnston, Ease Euing (Forgive me I'm going to have to check on my spellings here)... to the digital stuff being done now.
